P4Health partners with accredited laboratories and health analytics providers to deliver advanced biomarker and epigenetic testing services. This document outlines the typical steps involved in our test workflows, including sample collection, lab processing, and results delivery.
Test Types and Purposes
P4Health offers multiple testing pathways, each designed for specific health insights:
Epigenetic Testing (via dry swab sample)
- Analyses DNA methylation patterns
- Provides insights into biological aging factors
- Helps identify lifestyle impacts on gene expression
- Offered in 14 different panels with 8 additional add-ons
Dried Blood Spot (DBS) Testing (via finger prick sample)
- Measures various blood-based biomarkers
- Provides insights into nutritional status and metabolism
- Helps track changes in key health indicators
- Available in 3 different test configurations
Microbiome Testing (via stool sample)
- Analyses gut bacterial composition
- Provides insights into digestive health
- Helps identify potential imbalances
TruAge Biological Age Testing (via saliva swab)
- Assesses biological vs chronological age
- Provides insights into aging processes
- Helps track longevity interventions
Each test type involves different collection, handling, and processing requirements. Clear instructions are provided in your test kit.
The Testing Journey
1. Ordering Your Test
- Select the appropriate test based on your health goals
- Complete your purchase through our secure checkout
- Receive confirmation email with order details
2. Receiving Your Kit
- Test kits are typically dispatched within 2 business days
- Delivery timeframes depend on your location within Australia
- Track your shipment using the provided tracking information
3. Sample Collection
You will receive a physical test kit that includes:
- Step-by-step instructions with clear illustrations
- Collection tools (e.g., lancet, swab, tube, biohazard bag)
- Consent form (if required)
- Return envelope with prepaid postage (AU only)
It is essential that you:
- Follow all hygiene and preparation guidelines
- Label your sample correctly with your unique identifier
- Complete any required consent forms
- Send your sample promptly after collection
Each test type has specific collection requirements that will be detailed in your kit. For best results:
- Read all instructions before beginning
- Set aside adequate time in a clean environment
- Follow any fasting or timing requirements exactly

4. Returning Your Sample
- Use the prepaid return envelope included in your kit
- Follow any specific shipping instructions (e.g., same-day dispatch)
- Record your tracking number if available
5. Lab Processing & Timeframes
Once your sample arrives at the lab:
- You will receive an email confirmation
- Your sample will be assessed for viability (quality control)
- Analysis begins once accepted into processing
Estimated analysis timeframes:
- Epigenetic Tests: 3–4 weeks
- DBS Tests: 3-4 weeks
- Microbiome Tests: 3–4 weeks
- TruAge: 3-4 weeks
Delays may occur due to seasonal demand, public holidays, or re-collection requests.
6. Results Delivery
Once your test is complete:
- Your results will be securely uploaded to your P4Health dashboard
- You will receive an email notification
- You may also access support or concierge insight (if included in your plan)
Results are delivered in a digital format and may include:
- Personalised reports with graphs and recommendations
- Age or health index scores (for longevity tracking)
- Supplement or lifestyle suggestions based on your data
Sample Quality and Re-testing
Common Sample Collection Issues
Occasionally, samples may not meet quality standards for processing. Common issues include:
- Insufficient sample volume
- Improper collection technique
- Delayed shipping affecting sample integrity
- Missing required information
Re-collection Process
If your sample doesn't meet quality standards:
- You'll be notified via email
- We'll provide specific information about the issue
- A replacement collection kit may be sent at no charge
- You'll need to repeat the collection process
